The Goldsmiths' Company: Installation of AC units at Livery Hall



We were invited by The Goldsmiths' Company to design an air conditioning solution for their Livery Hall, a magnificent but uncomfortably hot room within Goldsmiths' Hall near St Paul's.


Our solution had to be efficient yet discreet. It was of the utmost importance that the system not impact on the overall aesthetic of the highly ornate hall, which is used for banquets, concerts and conferences.


The end result was the installation of four large capacity Mitsubishi AC units to the minstrel gallery, which meant that the floor space of Livery Hall was not affected.


What's more, we were able to move the individual fins on the finished bespoke grilles to manipulate the airflow so that the glass crystals of the four huge chandeliers, supplied by Perry and Co. in 1835, didn't tinkle...
